Rated number seven in the Bowers/Sundman book "100 Greatest American Currency Notes", the 1896 Education $1 is always a crown pleaser in numismatic circles! Along with its counterparts the $2 and $5 of the same series, the "Educational" issues are considered by most to be the most beautiful of American produced currency. The $1 depicts "History Instructing Youth", with the goddes and her pupil positioned approximately where the Robert E. Lee mansion is, across the Potomac from Washington, DC. A true masterpiece! $4,100

1934A $500 Federal Reserve Note New York S/N B00273727A CGA Gem Uncirculated 67Fr. 2202-B. Julian/Morgenthau. This high denomination note is a major opportunity for the serious buyer of means since it has magnificent surfaces and crisp paper. The colors are vivid on both front and back. In the days when $500 bills were still being issued (up to 1946), this amount of money was such that two $500 bills would buy you a new, if modest, automobile! Their mystique lingers in spite of the debasement in America's money since we went off the gold standard. $7,020
1934A $500 Federal Reserve Note S/N F00050675A Raw Extra FineFr. 2202-A. Julian/Morgenthau. Nice EF note priced at VF money due to the burn mark on the top border. It is just a mark and not a hole. However, there is a small staple hole in top center of the note. $945
